PARISH CHURCH: On Easter Day, Alexander Adam Kingham was baptised and Amelia, Daisy, Daniel, Erin, Francis and Freya were admitted to Holy Communion 9.45am. Wayne was welcomed home after his trek to London carrying a cross and the congregation received greetings from the link parish in Argentina. Festal Evensong was sung at 6pm. April 3 was the second of Easter with Parish Communion and the Starfish Gang 9.45am and choral evensong 6pm. Octopus Club met in the parish hall on April 6 afternoon and the Men’s Fellowship in church in the evening. The Social Committee met on 7 evening. There is Holy Communion every Wednesday 10.30am. On Sunday, there is a family service and parade 9.45am and Parish Eucharist 6pm. Contact Dhoe 01709 364430.

 

METHODIST CHURCH: Recently the church hosted the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Whiston Methodist Church with a display of memorabilia and a social event. The preacher at the special anniversary service was Rev George Graham. A celebratory lunch was held at the Carlton Park Hotel in the afternoon and a Songs of Praise led by Rev Jenny Park in the evening.
