Transfer discussions continue

ROTHERHAM United aim to have at least three new players in by the end of the week.

With Daniel Nardiello and Kayode Odejayi having already signed, team manager Steve Evans expects to announce his third new recruit of the close season tomorrow, subject to a medical.

He has confirmed that his interest in AFC Wimbledon striker Jack Midson is at an end because of the high asking price but says the club could make another approach for Bournememouth forward Matt Tubbs. Rotherham have already had a "significant" six-figure bid, believed to be more than £250,000, rejected. That matter is currently in the hands of Millers chairman Tony Stewart.

Evans has held discussions with a further five players and has had interest from other clubs in the transfer-listed duo of goalkeeper Jamie Annerson and defender Michael Raynes. A bid has also reportedly been received for another player.

Evans added: "I can promise our supporters we are working round the clock to make things happen."
