ROTHERHAM Metro Water Polo Club star Adam Scholefield insists securing a deal with Hungarian outfit PVSK will be the secret weapon to fire him to London 2012 glory.

The 25-year-old has spent the last few years plying his trade in the UK, concentrating on working with the Great Britain international side while also turning out for Rotherham.

But that will be all change as of this week with Scholefield jetting off to southern Hungarian city Pecs.

And with the countdown to London 2012 on the two-year- to-go mark, he believes his Eastern European adventure couldn't be better timed.

"As a team the water polo guys feel really good about the way we are progressing at the minute and I think the players moving to play in Europe will be a big boost to the sport," said Scholefield.

"Getting that exposure to the top club leagues and the top players in the world is fantastic with London 2012 in mind."

Scholefield had a sneak preview of the London venues last Tuesday when he was given a behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities as part of the 2012 countdown.
