Longer market leases to help Rotherham traders

MARKET stall leases will be lengthened so traders can tap into Rotherham Borough Council’s business vitality grants.

But there are worries that stallholders might not want to commit to new three to five-year stints, leaving empty spots at the market.

The revised tenancies will be offered to all Centenary Market indoor traders.

The council said that the longer stints would also save tenants money by spreading the cost of lease renewal fees.
