Youngster discovers hand grenade
A CHILD has uncovered a hand grenade in the garden of a house in Thurnscoe.
The device was dug up in on Tuesday evening.
Police were called and the grenade was removed from the property at Merrill Road at around 7.30pm.
Officers said it appeared the hand grenade was old but it was not clear how long it had been buried.
South Yorkshire Police said the device would be destroyed by bomb disposal experts.
