Body found in Rotherham had major chest injuries

A POSTMORTEM on the body of a man’s body found in Rotherham has revealed that he died from significant chest and abdominal injuries.

It is thought that the man — believed to be in his 50s — lived at the house in Hollowgate where he was found outside yesterday morning.

He had also sustained a head injury, the postmortem concluded.

A police spokesman said: “Enquiries continue in an effort to establish how he sustained

these injuries and his death is being treated as unexplained.”

Officers were called at 7.30am after the body was discovered in the back garden by another occupant.

Formal identification is expected later today.

Anyone with information about the death is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 128 of January 2.
