Cannabis farm at empty house shut down

POLICE have shut down a cannabis farm which was set up in an empty house.

Officers from Rotherham North local police team (LPT) carried out a raid at a property on Sandhill Road, Rawmarsh this morning.

Seven plants were seized and the property’s fuse box had also been by-passed.

Insp Abdul Aziz, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “By-passing the fuse box is extremely dangerous and significantly increases the risk of fire or electrocution.

“An investigation has commenced to trace those responsible.”
