VIDEO: Police hunt for HGV vehicle after driver fails to stop following incident on M1

POLICE have released CCTV footage of a lorry they are looking to trace after the driver failed to stop following an incident with another vehicle on the M1.

It was reported that a black Peugeot and a HGV collided on the M1 southbound just before Junction 35 at 1.30pm on March 4.

The driver of the HGV failed to stop at the scene of the collision and the driver and passengers of the Peugeot were uninjured but shaken, said police.

Officer investigating Natalie Booler said: “We are appealing for the driver of the HGV to come forward and assist us with our investigation, or for anyone who witnessed the incident to provide us with information.

“It is likely that the HGV vehicle returned to its place of work with significant damage.

“The HGV was carrying yellow and red gas bottles that may be identified by the company or owner.”
