Shortlist for annual business awards revealed
Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce has revealed its shortlist for the annual business awards at Magna on October 19.
Among those in the running for the 12 awards — each of them also eligible for the overall business of the year prize — are two Rotherham apprentices.

Hide AdLauna Lindsay, of No 26. The Makers Emporium, and Katie Andrews, from Liberty Speciality Steels, will hope to land the apprentice of the year award.
Rotherham United Community Sports Trust are up for the community impact award, while BizSpace (Ltd) Rotherham and MGB Plastics are in the hat for the environmental commitment award.
Wheelie bin makers MGB will also hope to take the innovation in manufacturing award.
Hospitality, leisure and tourism award nominees include Rotherham’s Grimm and Co, as well as host venue Magna, while the campaign of the year shortlist features Hellaby-based Pyronix and another appearance by Magna.

Hide AdThe most promising new business prize could be won by Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust, and charity of the year could go to Rotherham’s Grimm and Co or Shiloh.
Chief executive of Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, Andrew Denniff, said: “We’d like thank everyone who submitted an application this year, the standard was once again particularly high, and the judges were faced with some very difficult decisions. “Everyone who has secured a place on the shortlist should be proud of their achievements over the past 12 months.”
All shortlisted companies submitted entries of very high calibre, he said.
