Police respond to petrol-related incidents
POLICE attended two emergency incudents involving petrol or petrol stations on the same day.
Insp Abdul Aziz said officers had dealt with a man on Friday at about noon who was suffering mental illness and "had doused himself in petrol and threatened to ignite”.

Hide AdHe added: “Patience and communication enabled us to gain control" and said the man was with health care professionals.
A spokeswoman said officers had also been called to the Jet garage on Pleasley Road, Whiston at around 6.30pm, after “concerns for a man’s welfare”.
A 43-year-old man was taken to hospital but is not thought to have sustained any injury. A police cordon was removed at 7.15pm.
