Police called to 'violent man on bus' in Rotherham

POLICE were called to Rotherham town centre this afternoon (Friday) following reports of a "violent" pensioner on a bus.

Officers attended Wharncliffe Hill just after 1.20pm following reports of a 78-year-old man being violent on a bus.

"The incident was resolved shortly after and the man was not detained," said a South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to hospital, she added.
