New photos released in search for missing Rotherham man as family beg for him to get in touch

POLICE have released new photos as they continue to search for a “generous and honest” Rotherham man who has been missing for nearly a month.

The 25-year-old man, named by police only as Abdul, was last seen on Sunday, February 12 with police this week releasing new images and appealing to the community to see if they may have “vital footage or information” to help the team searching for him.

In a statement released on Wednesday, his family described him as “generous and honest”, saying their family is not complete while he is missing.

Speaking directly to him, they said: “Abdul, if you are listening to this, please get in touch and let us know you are okay. We want nothing more than to have you back home where you are safe and where you belong.”

Abdul was captured on CCTV wearing all black clothing at 6.33pm on Sunday, February 12, crossing Eldon Road and entering Eastwood Park.

Despite extensive CCTV and door-to-door enquiries, police say they have no leads as to where he went from there and are urging everyone in the area to check their dashcam, CCTV and doorbell camera footage “to help us establish his next movements”.

It’s “possible” he left the park by walking along the canal tow path in the direction of the train station or Rotherham town centre, said a spokesperson.

Overseeing the investigation, Supt Andy Wright said: “We have a team of officers dedicated to searching for Abdul but someone in the community could hold some vital footage or information that can help to progress our inquiry.

“If you live in the area, or were driving through Eastwood or Rotherham town centre on the evening of Sunday, February 12, please check any camera devices to see if you captured Abdul.

“Abdul’s family are understandably struggling and we are doing all we can to find him for them.”

Anyone with footage or information that could help should contact South Yorkshire police through the dedicated online portal or by calling 101 quoting incident number 142 of February 13.
