Man in court over assault on woman in Parkgate

Tuy Van Tran (32), of Duncan Street, Rotherham, is accused of assaulting a woman at a property on Lloyd Street on June 27.

The woman was later found with serious injuries to her arm at the junction of Lloyd Street and Broad Street, a police spokesperson said.

Van Tram appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Monday (12) charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the alleged attack.

He was also charged with common assault in connection with an alleged attack on a second woman and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with an alleged attack on a man.

All of the offences are said to have taken place on June 27.

Van Tran, who did not enter any pleas, was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on August 10.
