Man (48) charged with raping 14-year-old girl in Rotherham
A MAN has been charged with raping a 14-year-old girl by investigators looking into child sexual abuse in Rotherham. during the years covered by the damning Jay report.
Azher Ahmed Malik (48) is being prosecuted as part of Operation Stovewood, the National Crime Agency’s investigation into child sexual abuse in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013.
Malik, of Burngreave in Sheffield, is alleged to have raped the girl in 2008.
He was due to appear before magistrates in Sheffield today.
