Man (37) charged over Mexborough stabbing

Leigh Oldfield (37) of Arnold Crescent, Mexborough, was due to appear at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday) charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm over the incident in Mexborough.

A police spokeswoman said a 32-year-old man had been seriously hurt.

She added: “At around 11.20pm on Tuesday, it was reported that a 32-year-old man at a property on Lingfield Walk, Mexborough, had suffered stab wound injuries. 

“The 32-year-old sustained serious injuries in the incident and was taken to hospital to receive treatment. 

“A 28-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man arrested on suspicion of GBH in connection with the incident have been released no further action.”
