Kind-hearted restaurant owner to donate day’s takings to earthquake appeal

A KIND-HEARTED restaurant owner will open his burger venue on Sunday — and donate all takings to the Turkey and Syria earthquake appeal.

Zaheer Ahmed, owner of Init Burgers on Broad Street, Parkgate, will open the dine-in and takeaway restaurant at noon and close at 11.30pm with every penny taken donated to the emergency appeal.

It’s not the first time the generous businessman has raised much-needed funds for charity.

In 2019 he teamed up with charities Shiloh, Ilhaam, Rotherham RIVO and Rotherham’s street kitchens to give out 200 meals to homeless and vulnerable people from his Chicken Express takeaway (pictured above).

He also opened the Westgate takeaway to homeless people on Christmas Day that year.
