Iceland death trial begins
A SUPERMARKET has gone on trial accused of allowing unsafe working conditions which led to the death of a contractor.
Iceland is accused of one count of failing to ensure that employees at its Sycamore Road store in Eastwood were protected from risk.

Hide AdIt also faces one count of failing to protect non-employees, like Tony Hopkins (58) of Silsden, West Yorkshire.
Mr Hopkins, an engineer with D&E Filtration, sustained injuries after falling through the store’s roof on October 28, 2013 and died at Rotherham Hospital.
Jurors were sworn at Sheffield Crown Court this morning (Tuesday), with prosecutors due to open their case tomorrow.
