Firefighters tackle two deliberate rubbish fires in Canklow less than 20 minutes apart

FIREFIGHTERS tackled two incidents of rubbish being torched in Canklow within 20 minutes in the early hours of this morning.

A crew from Rotherham station were called to Canklow Roundabout at 4.35am.

They found loose rubbish alight at the side of the road, said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

The incident was dealt with by 4.53am. 

Another pile of loose rubbish was on reported as being on fire on Centenary Way at 4.52am.

Both fires are thought to have been started deliberately, added the spokeswoman.
