FIREFIGHTERS were called to a charity’s town centre headquarters after reports of a strong smell of smoke.

Three crews attended the scene at Rotherham Rise on Main Street (pictured) at around 5pm yesterday (Tuesday) and the road was closed.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue (SYFR) said crews attended due to a strong smell of smoke coming from the cellar.

But there were no signs of fire and crews left the scene at 5.33pm.
