FIREFIGHTERS spent nearly four-and-a-half hours dealing with deliberate grass and field blazes after arsonists struck three times last night (Tuesday).

Edlington firefighters were first called out to a deliberate fire involving cut hay in a field on Melton Road, Sprotbrough at 7.45pm.

The crew left the scene at 8:20pm.

Several fire crews attended a deliberate grassland fire at 7.50pm on Carr Head Lane, Bolton on Dearne, coming away at 10.30pm.

Two fire crews from Edlington and Maltby stations were then called out to a deliberate field fire at 10.10pm on Carr Road, Edlington.

They left at 11.20pm.

Elsewhere, firefighters attended an accidental rubbish blaze at 8.45pm on Oxford Street, Clifton.

The crew came away at 9.10pm.
