SINCE 2008, fundraisers across the region have raised more than £1 million for good causes through the Master Cutler’s Challenge to bring in as much money as possible from £50.

And this year the Advertiser is following the progress of the team from Rotherham manufacturing firm AESSEAL. This is the third in their series of updates.

STEEL City Superheroes worked their magic at our spectacular summer party — a highlight of our Master Cutler’s Challenge to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

The superhero theme extended from the decorations and themed cocktails to our superhero photobooth, where partygoers were transformed into Batman, Wonderwoman and a host of other intrepid characters.

The party took place at New York Stadium, home of Rotherham United football club, and kicked off with a Q&A session with the manager, Paul Warne (below), and our engineering director Stephen Shaw.

Guests danced the night away to the amazing performance from The Beats (below), who kindly donated their time to support the worthy cause.

The evening was topped off in superb style when Bluebell Wood’s Russ Hall drew our raffle, which raised an amazing £1,120.

There were 44 amazing prizes to be won, including a Red Letter experience day, Amazon vouchers, days out in Yorkshire and many more.

Huge thanks to everyone who generously donated a prize for our raffle — you were the true heroes of the night!

Our fundraising continues apace to make this a bumper fundraising year for Bluebell Wood’s and the wonderful work it does caring for children and young adults with life-shortening or life-threatening conditions, as well as supporting their families.
