Barber shop hopes to 'reopen in days' after burglary

A BURGLARY forced a barber shop to shut just weeks after getting started following lockdown.

Shear Cuts on Bridgegate said it hoped the closure would only be for a few days after the break-in last Wednesday (12).

A police spokeswoman said: “It is believed the offenders gained access through the back door of the premises overnight.

“Small electrical items and around £50 in cash is reported to have been taken.”

A massage on the shop’s Facebook page said: “It’s with a heavy heart that once again I’m having to close shear cuts for hopefully only a few days as we were broken into and all our equipment stolen.

“Unfortunately, until I get this sorted with the insurance I will have to remain closed but hopefully this wont be to long.”

The business thanked customers for their support through a difficult few months.

Anyone with information about the burglary is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident 812 of August 12.
