Arsonists start town centre fires

ARSONISTS set alight a quantity of rubbish on a Rotherham street last night (Sunday).

The blaze happened on Godstone Street, Wellgate, at 8.45pm.

A fire service spokeswoman said firefighters were at the deliberate blaze for half an hour.

Rubbish was also set on fire in Wombwell on Windmill Road at 7.45pm, a crew dealt with the arson strike within 35 minutes.
