Appeal after bogus officials rob and assault householder

TWO bogus officials assaulted a householder and stole cash and jewellery after claiming to be there to repair damage at the property.

The pair visited an address on Doncaster Road in Rotherham at 5pm on July 31 pretending to be from a housing association.

Once inside the house, one of the men assaulted the victim while the other grabbed a large quantity of money and jewellery, South Yorkshire Police said.

A spokesperson added: “During the incident, the two men were reported to be wearing hi-vis green and red tops.

“Enquiries are ongoing but officers are keen to identify the two men in the images as they may be able to assist with their enquiries.

“Do you recognise them? If you have any information about the men in the images, please get in touch.
