It is the story of Ashley, Britney and Heather facing up to the destruction of their beloved football ground and their last-ditch protest to save their club and fight for what they believe in.

The play is performed by Roslyn Paterson, Daisy Morris, Ellen-Gayle Harewood and Guy Evans and Girls with Balls is written by Ann Richards.

Girls with Balls is inspired by real-life events from 1921 when the Football Association banned women from playing at affiliated grounds.

At that time, the women’s game attracted crowds of up over 50,000 – significantly more than the men – and women were paid to play. The ban was finally lifted in 1971.

Tickets for Girls with Balls, which kicks off at 7.30pm, cost £15 for adults or £12 for concessions.
