Wombwell scouts wear the badges of success

PROUD Scouts show off their certificates after landing a clutches of new achievement badges.

The 9th Barnsley Wombwell Scouts held a presentation night for 14 members, with more than 100 badges handed out in front of friends and families — and burgers and buns for all to celebrate.

The Eagle patrol members being recognised were:

Joseph Stevenson (14), who collected 12 badges including the Chief Scout Gold Award.

Albi Douglas-Waller (12) collected five badges including and award for being a member of the Scouting family for six years.

Zoe Palmer (12), who collected nine badges including the Scout Entertainer Activity Badge, which she earned by taking part in a number of productions with the Faceless Arts Community program.

Kathleen Denton (12), who was given the Community Impact Stage 1 which she has earned by volunteering with the Forestry Commission at Wombwell Woods.

Kai Read (13), whose five badges included the Paddle Sport Stage 3 Award.

Panther Patrol members receiving badgers were: Jordan Stewart (12), who collected two badges including the Adventure Challenge Award.

Jack Evans (12), whose three badges including Time on Water Stage 5, which he earned while canoeing at Manvers Water Sport Centre.

Chloe Wright (13),who was given three badges including Nights Away Stage 15, which she earned while camping in Blackhills Scout Campsite in West Yorkshire and Birchall Scout Campsite in North Yorkshire.

Shauna Morris (11), many of whose seven badges were earned by joining Manvers Water Sport Centre and taking part in the Faceless Arts Community productions.

Also pictured with her patrol-mates is new member Chloe Hoyland (11), who is working hard on her first badges.

Also being rewarded were members of the Fox Patrol, including:

Christopher Waller (13), who collected 11 badges including the Chief Scout Gold Award and the Scout Fundraiser Activity Badge.

Teri Lomas (10), the newest member of the Group, who was invested before being awarded three badges including the Hikes Away Award Stage 2.

Maya Isherwood (12), who collected 8 badges including the Nights Away Stage 20 which she has earned by attending the many camps the Scouts attend.  (Rear centre right)

Chlow Howes (13), whose impressive 15 badges included the Chief Scout Gold Award and a number of nautical awards.

Jamie Morris (13), who was handed six badges including the Scout Artist Activity Badge, which he earned for painting a number of silk flags and a picture of an Eddie Stobart truck.

Luke Pon (13), whose two badges badges included the Community Impact Stage 1 which he has earned while volunteering with the Forestry Commission at Wombwell Woods.

All the badges were presented by Mark Turton who is and has been the Scout Leader for over five years and has been involved in Scouting for 25 years.
