SURGERY TIMES: Cllr John Turner, who represents the Hellaby ward on Rotherham Council, holds a surgery at Wickersley Library and Community Centre, Bawtry Road, on the first Tuesday of each month 5.30-6.30pm.

 

WICKERSLEY TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD: Members took part in the Federation’s drama evening, performing as the Clodhoppers before an audience of members from across the district.

 

SECOND NATURE LIFE SUPPORT: Charity support has continued by helping a number of outreach projects in South Yorkshire and activities in creating new nature therapy and community gardens. Also some cutting back of plants in the perennial borders at Winthrop Park took place, together with the gathering of seeds ready for drying off and preparing for next season.

 

ST ALBAN’S CHURCH: The Men’s Fellowship August activity was a trip to Brodsworth Hall.

WICKERSLEY CI BOWLING CLUB: The club held their Seniors Trophy Competition on August 16. It was a singles competition for the over 70s. There were 10 members entered. Two groups played five games of eight ends. Pat Kempster played Dennis Walsh for a place in the final in one group. Dennis Walsh won and played Alan Thickett in the final, which Alan Thickett won 11-3. The next club competition will be the J Cook Trophy, a mixed doubles competition, on September 6.
