WATH COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL: British Science Week is a programme of science, technology, engineering and maths events and activities across the UK and runs from March 11. There will be a number of science-related quizzes, activities and visits in school. Week commencing March 14 will be Anti-Bullying Week.

 

ST PIUS CATHOLIC SCHOOL: The school has recently had CAFOD assemblies done by CAFOD volunteers. They had CAFOD collection boxes in each form for collecting change. On February 19, which was CAFOD Fast Day, there was a soup kitchen in the Food Technology Room where students paid £1 for a fast day meal of soup and bread. All money raised will be going towards the CAFOD collection. OUR LADY AND ST JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL: The school recently took part in the Movement Evening at Wath Comprehensive School. Fr Evangelist will be celebrating a number of Masses during Lent and everyone is welcome to join in the Class Mass. All Masses are held on Tuesdays 10.30am: March 15 Y6 and F2. On March 22 the whole school Mass to celebrate the Feast of St Joseph will take place.

LOCAL FIRES: The police are asking anyone with information on recent fires in the area to contact them. They were called last week to a blaze near the Skate Park and are asking parents to ensure they know where their children are and what they are doing in the evenings. There have also been several reports of anti-social behaviour. Call the police 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
