FUNDRAISING FEAT: Regulars at The Oak pub raised £1,573.30 for the Little Heroes Trust children’s cancer charity as a result of the Conquer the Coals Walk that took place at the Northgate hostelry. Among the brave soles that trod barefoot on the red-hot cinders were landlady Michelle Needham and her husband Wes along with another dozen or so fundraisers. Michelle said: “It was a really good event and all of those people that took part in the challenge received lots of encouragement from the onlookers. On the night we also raised another £80 for the Little Heroes charity from the raffle. Our next charity challenge here at The Oak could be a bungee jump.”
