BIG LOCAL: Partnership meeting held on September 7. Young people – residential to Croydon. A letter has been sent to Local Trust regarding the possibility of a contribution towards the youth residential, awaiting a response. There is money in the budget to proceed with the residential if the Local Trust cannot contribute. Play area – a meeting to be arranged with Big Local, parish council and RMBC. Volunteer hours – all volunteer forms need to be sent in to Tony Simmonds on a monthly basis. Small grants – the committee decided to keep the grants at £200. They have added a piece to the forms asking how people would spend more money if they had it. Litter pick – the August litter pick was cancelled due to lack of volunteers. They will continue on a monthly basis, the next one is on September 26 10am. A skip has been ordered for that day and will be located next to the cricket pavilion from 10am until full. Another skip has been ordered for October 10, location to be confirmed. Marquee – a cheque has been received from Kevin Fordham. A receipt for this is to be sent. Review of Gala 2015 –  a very successful day. It was agreed that due to the trouble from the kids the marquees will be put up on the same day as the Gala next year. Future events – an event for the children in October half term has yet to be organised. Pensioners and over 18s have expressed an interest in a trip to a Christmas market. The Christmas event in Thurcroft will take place on the official light switch-on evening in partnership with the church. Also suggestions to have a pantomime for the children. To be referred to Pat Cahill at Hotshots. It is 100 years since the Club opened next year, so there may be an opportunity to celebrate the centenary. Big Local Shop – due to close on September 18 2015. Discussions took place to keep it open until the new cricket pavilion is built, as it is somewhere people can still go for information. It was agreed to take a lease for another six months if possible, if not then the shop will close. Everyone on the Partnership will be required to cover the shop, so it is not the same people doing it all the time. Partnership membership – Claire Mitchell’s membership will be discussed at October’s meeting. Every year the Local Trust requires an update of who is on the Partnership. This information will be submitted after this meeting, although people can still be added to the Partnership during the year. It was advised that it might be a good idea to have a welcome pack for new members and to have one person on the Partnership who can speak to new members about what is involved. Networking funds – a proposal has been put in for Big Local areas to get together, the first event will be in Creswell Craggs. Cricket pavilion – it was advised that the cricket pavilion needs a business plan. To contact Sam Keighley (Thurcroft SI rep) to organise a meeting where the business plan can be discussed. Funding agreement – the funding agreement ended at the end of August. The new agreement will start September 2015. The next meeting to be held on October 5 at the cricket pavilion. Katie Powell from Sheffield University will be attending the October meeting.
