WENTWORTH SOUTH AREA ASSEMBLY MEETING: Held on March 22 6.15pm. Chair of the Wentworth South Area Assembly Cllr Evans welcomed 21 people to the meeting. He introduced Zafar Saleem, neighbourhood partnership and engagement manager, and Julie Colley and Mandy Ardron from the Wentworth South Area Assembly Team. At the meeting in September Kathryn Rawling outlined the work of the Dementia Alliance. This meeting agreed that the Area Assembly should sign up to become a member of the Dementia Alliance, which now means that it is helping to work towards services and communities becoming more dementia friendly. A number of actions have already been agreed including raising awareness about the work being done within RDAA to as many communities/organisations as possible, raising the profile of the work with the media, following them on Twitter and Facebook, hosting a Dementia Awareness session, raising dementia awareness and distributing Worried About Your Memory leaflets and information about social outlets for people living with dementia to reduce the risk of social isolation. The Quality Standards Challenge Group meets bi-monthly and is made up of volunteers from all areas of the borough. The group leads the assessment of performance against the customer-defined local service standards (nine local offers). The group works closely with RMBC staff, Area Housing Panels, Tenant and Resident Associations and Rotherfed to monitor the local service standards through mystery shopping and reality checking exercises. The role of the group involves looking at any hot topics in relation to customer satisfaction. It was noted that anyone who would be interested in volunteering to be part of this group or would like further information can contact Nicola Mighali 01709 823427 or [email protected].
