MASBROUGH HERITAGE SOCIETY: Next meeting on January 12 7.30pm at Mario’s Trattoria, Kimberworth Road. Calendars for 2016 featuring Old Masbrough are still available at Mario’s, Carinas on Kimberworth Road and the Old Town Hall Craft Shop. 

 

ST BEDE’S CHURCH: The Liturgy meeting date has been changed to January 26 and all members of the parish are invited to give their thoughts on events for the year of mercy as declared by Pope Francis. People are invited to join the Lourdes pilgrimage June 26-July 1 and go through the Door of Mercy. Christine Calvert and Colette Sharp will be available after the Sunday masses for enquiries.

ST PAUL’S CHURCH: At the traditional service of carols and Bible reading on December 20, a donation was given to support the Rotherham Sea Cadets (TS Repulse). Family Communion and feast of epiphany was celebrated on January 3, Rev Charles Grice officiating. St Paul’s now has a website with details of services, events and other information, access via A Church Near You and postcode S61 1AH. There is a box in church for donations of tinned food, biscuits, perfumes etc for The Shiloh Project for homeless people in Rotherham. The Rotherham Local History Society meets at St Paul’s on January 16 10.30am when speaker Margaret Jackson will talk about The History of Westgate, cost £2. The society meets each month, annual subscription £12.
