ST BEDE’S CHURCH: As part of the Year of Mercy there will be Masses in St Marie’s Cathedral on April 15 7pm for all married couples especially those celebrating significant anniversaries, on April 23 12.30pm for young people aged 13-16, and May 28 at 5.30pm for deacons. The diocesan pilgrimage to Padley is on July 10, contact Celia White 01433 630352. The pilgrimage to Walsingham is on July 16, contact Thomas McNicholas 01226 242145. On May 31 Fr Des is planning a deanery event to walk to St Marie’s Cathedral from Immaculate Conception calling at St Bede’s Church for prayer and reflection, then walking along the canal to Sheffield and entering the Holy Door at the Cathedral and spending time in prayer, everyone welcome or can make their own way and meet at the cathedral.

 

MASBROUGH AND THORNHILL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION: Bingo in the Community Hall on College Road available Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday 6-8pm.

ST PAUL’S CHURCH: St Paul’s now has a website with details of services, events and other information, access via A Church Near You and postcode S61 1AH. Rotherham Local History Society meets at St Paul’s on April 16 10.30am when Joan Hart will talk about At the Coal Face: The Memoirs of a Pit Nurse £2. The society meets each month, annual subscription £11. As part of the Queen’s 90th birthday celebration, there is a thanksgiving service followed by a buffet supper on April 23 6pm, tickets £5, contact St Paul’s for details or tickets. St Paul’s Spring Fair is on May 7 11am. A 1940’s Night will be held on June 17 7pm.
