Try your Formula One skills at Rotherham Show

IT'S the biggest show in town — and we’ll be there to join in the party.

The Rotherham Show returns to Clifton Park tomorrow with tens of thousands of people expected to turn out for the big early autumn event.

If you're heading down to the park this weekend, make sure you visit the Rotherham Advertiser marquee.

As the marquee needed to be a huge one for this event, our marquee this year has been supplied courtesy of Gala Tent at Wath.

We will be at the show both days with a huge marquee which features a fantastic F1 Simulator Car, where you can race the actual Silverstone track to wow your friends.

The race lasts for ten minutes and you can combine the chance to show off your F1 driving skills to your mates with the chance to win a great prize.

For the younger children, we have guest appearances from In the Night Garden characters Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy, while Dora the Explorer will also be popping along to say “Hola”.

Captain Jack is also looking for new members to join our Clipper Club and every child coming aboard at the show will receive a free gift.

For the grown-ups, there's the chance to join our fantastic Silver Service dining club, in which members can enjoy exclusive amazing discounts while dining out at 12 pubs and restaurants in and around Rotherham.

Elsewhere, vintage vehicles, brass bands and musical delights are in store for visitors to the borough's early autumn extravaganza.

The show, which is organised by Rotherham Borough Council, will include favourites such as the Vintage Vehicle Rally, Horticultural Show, the main arena and the One Town, One Community Stage.

The main arena, hosted by Rother FM, will once again bring a wealth of action to the showground, including the Stannage International Stunt Team and the Kangaroo Gymnastics Display Team, who will be wowing the crowds.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the likes of local band Elbow Jane and Britain's Got Talent semi-finalists, The Jive Aces, plus classic brass from Rotherham Town, Maltby Miners' Welfare, Thurcroft Colliery and Dinnington Colliery bands at the bandstand.

The One Town, One Community area offers will include craft and art workshops and plenty of live performances.

It all promises to be another show to remember.

But don't forget, there's something for everyone at the Rotherham Advertiser tent this year — so make sure you pay us a visit.
