The annual Thorpe Hesley and Scholes Garden Open Day

GARDEN gates will be flung open once again next weekend as nine proud pruners put their plants on display.

The annual Thorpe Hesley and Scholes Garden Open Day returns next Saturday (4) from 11am until 5pm and features alongside the manicured lawns and spectacular flowerbeds a variety of stalls including plants and cakes plus raffles, programme draw, quiz and various homemade refreshments, as well as a True or False plant quiz.

All proceeds will go to Holy Trinity Thorpe Hesley Church funds.

Entrance is by programme costing £3 per adult and programmes are on sale now at the church now, or on the day outside 3 Thorpe Street (formerly Yates Newsagents) or at any open garden.

Follow the arrows from junction 35 of the M1 on the A629 towards Rotherham to find the event.
