On April 8, Mgr Ryan celebrated 9.30am Mass where Torey Musa, Zoe Omafuayire and Lorenzo Willey made their First Holy Communion and Joshua Deehan made his at the 6.15pm Mass with Mgr Ryan. Fr Cezary Karaczkowski celebrated Mass in Polish 11.15am. Masses during the week were celebrated for Tommy Bates, Mary Chapman, Bernard Rockett, Ann Barker, Delores Brannigan, Michael Shaw, Geni and Drago Nenadovic, Elena and Mile Kasic and Geoffrey Robinson. The funeral arrangements for Fr Kieran O’Connell are as follows:  Requiem Mass at Immaculate Conception, Herringthorpe 11am on April 27 with Reception into St Joseph’s, Rawmarsh on April 26 evening, time to be confirmed. Deanery Quiz is on April 13 7pm in the Parish Rooms. Holy Communion Preparation for Parents – there was a meeting for parents whose children are to make their First Holy Communion this year, and who have not yet attended any of the preparation sessions. April 14 – after 9.30am Mass the Rotherham Associates will meet. Sr Marie is unable to travel up from London for this meeting as her sister is ill and she is caring for her. May 12 – Northern Scripture Festival: celebrating God’s word in fun ways at All Saints School, York 10am-4.30pm: the festival is rooted in the Catholic Christian tradition but is open to all. The aim is to help Christians to know more about the Bible and to encounter God’s word in new and dynamic ways, through talks, workshops, exhibitions and worship, Bookings for York are now open.
