Robbie's a right charmer!

CAN’T believe I’m going to say this but how good was Robbie Savage at the weekend?

I CAN’T believe I’m going to say this, but how good was Robbie Savage at the weekend?

I thought his fox-trot with Ola was brilliant and his solo dance sequence at the beginning was...wait for it...quite charming.

The former Premiership footballer brought a big smile to my face and I was delighted for them both when they received positive comments and scores from the judges.

My other performances of the night came from Alex Jones, who looked amazing and showed much improvement, Chelsee Healey who is a proper little mover and I loved Russell Grant’s Dancing Queen salsa. Tremendous.

For me, Edwina Currie was the right person to go, she wasn’t the worst dancer but nothing about her personality interested me. I think she was going for the comedy card but with Nancy and Russell streets ahead, it was no surprise that the public didn’t vote to keep her.

I think Harry was particularly harshly marked and there is a lack in consistency among the judges’ scores. They openly admitted that they are harsher with their critiques of the better dancers but I think it’s unfair that comedy could score more points than actual ability.

Harry got two sixes from Len and Craig—a score I think was influenced by his dance partner Aliona being quoted earlier in the week saying that she doesn’t listen to the judges.

That was a very silly thing to say and more often than not the criticism is constructive so should be adhered to.

Next to go? Audley could be in trouble but middle of the table hangers Rory Bremner and Dan Lobb could also be bottom two candidates.

Nancy and Anton may just have enough tricks up their sleeves for a few weeks to come.

Llloyd's view:  “Chelsee started the show off and came out like a whirlin’ dervish.

“I absolutely loved the sassy lassie, she looked as if she was in her element.

“Harry was still among the best and should be there for a long time. Jason, again, gave it his all and was very good.

“Anita captivated me, she should be in the last few. I was impressed with Robbie, he improved vastly, well done to the lad.

“The overall dancing this week was much better and some of the celebs are really getting into the swing.

“I still think Nancy with the laughing eyes should have been the one to go (though I would have picked Edwina for the chop next), but I suspect people are voting for Anton, because he’s such a nice bloke, as well as being a good dancer.

“So bearing that in mind, I think the big man, Audley will go next, but good luck to them all and keep entertaining us.”
