Praise for "generous" Rotherham Poppy Appeal supporters
Ron Moffett, who is co-ordinationing this year’s efforts on behalf of the Royal British Legion, said he had been heartened by the level of contributions.
“People are being very generous,” he said. “I believe people now think a poppy is worth £1 when it was about 10p when I was young.

One poppy seller based at Catcliffe is understood to have made more than £150 this year for the appeal.
Rotherham East co-ordinator Pauline Ellis said she would go on selling poppies until Sunday, when she will be at Clifton Park for the annual Remembrance Day service.
Events are taking place across the borough on Sunday to allow people to pay their respects to the fallen.
