Golfers’ tee off in workmates’ honour

The Taylor Wimpey foursome will take part in a charity golf day at Sitwell Park Golf Club to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

The cause is close to the players’ hearts as their workmate Steve Burns has the condition.

The event aims to raise money to help combat the disease which attacks nerves in the brain and spinal cord meaning messages gradually stop reaching muscles.

Steve has already seen the strength support from his workmates in action as they helped to convert and extend his home after learning he had MND.

The housebuilder — which is sponsoring the golf day — is also entering a team of four employees into the 19-team event ,with Jason Helliwell, Glynn Littlewood, Gary Russon and Tim Richardson all competing.
