Give Old Moor's birds the boot!

A NATURE reserve has recruited a cool new member to give it some welly and encourage people to create unique bird feeders from old boots.

William the snowman is helping staff at the RSPB Old Moor at Manvers to promote Welly Season and handover unwanted boots.

The team will show people how to make bird feeders and welly gardens which can be used to encourage birds to visit their garden.

Liane Holdsworth, visitor experience officer at the reserve, said: “The feeders are essential at this time of year to help birds through the cold, snowy period, ensuring they keep up their body weight and stay in tip top condition.

“Just hanging a feeder in the garden will really help birds survive the winter.”
