Folk Musician Miranda Sykes returns to Maltby for special performance

The singer and multi-talented performer will be at the Wesley Centre next Friday (9).

She is best known for her long collaboration with Folk pioneers Show of Hands, having been “on the road” for 25 years as a soloist and as a band member, including fronting her own band.

She said performing three-weekly concerts on Facebook between chemotherapy cycles for breast cancer had become a lifeline, reminding her of her own identity during a difficult time.

Because of these concerts, Miranda decided to record a CD at home and ask her online audience to choose the songs to be featured on it.

The result was “The Farmhouse Sessions”, which covers the whole of Miranda;s career and is a celebration of life and love in all its forms.
