Family fun evening aims to boost football club funds

JUNIOR footballers are bidding to boost club funds with a family fun evening.

The event in aid of Rawmarsh St Joseph's JFC under-8s is being held at Ryecroft WMC next Friday.

Entertainment for the evening, which starts at 7pm and is open to all ages, includes live music from local band Mayhem.

An auction will be held, with plenty of football merchandise up for grabs, including signed posters and other gear from Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, as well as a luxury golf weekend.

Co-organiser Shane Horne, whose son Lennon plays in goal for St Joseph’s under-8s, said the club had a main sponsor but was keen to land sponsors for its training kits and tracksuits.
