Enchanted Tree takes centre stage at Sense family day

A SENSORY session for children with sight and hearing impairments will take place this weekend (28).

The event at the Sense Centre — at Ashley Business Court, on Rawmarsh Rd — — on Saturday will offer children with communication difficulties to play and get creative.

The centre, run by national disability charity Sense, will feature multi-sensory installations like The Enchanted Tree and Musical Meadow.

Three sensory rooms and a music room will be available, as will the chance for parents to participate in an informal question and answer session.

Sue Fawcett, children and family support worker for Sense, said: “Sensory play is critical for development, communication and social skills.

“This is an exciting event for our families across Rotherham to attend with their children, who can explore different sensory experiences and enjoy messy play.”

The free event will start at 10.30am and finish at 3pm, with lunch and refreshments provided.
