Could you bang the gong for Rank?
MECCA Rotherham is taking part in the hunt for a new strongman or woman — to help bang the gong for The Rank Group.
The iconic Rank gong man appeared before the opening credits of hundreds of movies produced and distributed by Rank during more than 50 years in motion pictures.

And to celebrate its 75th anniversary, Rank has decided to celebrate its 75th birthday with the return of the gong man.
Steve Bell, general Manager of Mecca Rotherham said, "The Gongman is part of our heritage in entertainment so launching this search seems a fitting way to celebrate Rank's 75th birthday.
The original gong man was boxer “Bombardier” Bill Wells and entrants can either recreate his classic pose or let their imaginations run wild in the freestyle class — for inspiration you can check out the video on the Mecca Facebook page.
