Comedy set to explore multicultural Britain

A NEW comedy which tackles the problems facing Arab, Jewish and Muslim communities is heading to Doncaster’s Cast Theatre in May.

Love, Bombs and Apples explores Muslim and Jewish communities in Bradford, New York, Palestine and Pakistan.

The play, which tells four stories unified by award-winning playwright Hassan Abdulrazzak, will be performed on Wednesday, May 25 and Thursday, May 26.

It is a one-man stand-up show which draws attention to social issues in today’s multicultural Britain.

Lead actor Asif Khan moves between the individual stories by assuming each character.

He said: “There are many challenges such as fully embodying physically and vocally each of the four characters I’m playing.

“But I think the most challenging thing with this piece in particular is stamina. Having the stamina to keep the audience fully engaged for 90 minutes, with no interval.”

Tickets for Love, Bombs and Apples cost £10.50 or £8.50 concessions and are available by calling 01302 303959 or visiting castindoncaster.com.
