Church heritage on show

ROTHERHAM churches will throw open their doors this weekend as part of an annual celebration of the UK’s history and heritage.

The Heritage Open Days weekend, organised by English Heritage, runs from today until Sunday and offers people free access to interesting properties that are usually closed to the public.

The churches open for visitors in Rotherham are: Anston St James; Brampton Bierlow Christ Church; Dinnington St Leonard; Hooton Roberts St John the Baptist; Laughton All Saints; Ravenfield St James; Rawmarsh Methodist Church (High St Centre); Thorpe Hesley Holy Trinity; Thorpe Salvin St Peter; Thrybergh St Leonard; Treeton St Helens and Whiston St Mary Magdalene.
