Charity’s “come bowling” plea

A CHARITY is inviting families to lace up their bowling shoes and get bowling in a good cause.

Action for Children wants people attend a charity bowling night event at the Rotherham Superbowl on Monday at 7pm.

The charity is raising funds to provide laptops to help young people in foster care succeed at school and achieve their full potential.

On the night local residents can expect bowling, refreshments and the chance to win great prizes.

Gloria Brooke, a foster carer based in Rotherham, came up with the idea to host the ten pin bowling night.

She said: “Having successfully organised this type event at the Rotherham Superbowl for many years, I thought that it would be fantastic to help make a difference for local children who are in foster care.

People can expect an evening of fun and entertainment regardless of whether they choose to bowl or not, so I hope that both young and old will help us raise as much money as possible.”
