Burlesque comes back to Rotherham

THE EXOTICALLY-named Velma Von Bon Bon, Susie Vavoom and Kiki Deville are all on the bill as burlesque returns to Rotherham next week.

Rotherham’s own Charlie Brookes, who performs herself as Pinky Deville, is putting on the Night Train Revenue at the Rotherham Trades next Saturday.

Charlie said: “The cast is carefully curated to bring you a selection of different acts and a guaranteed great night out.”

Victorian-style magicians Morgan and West will also be showing off their skills.

Velma Von Bon Bon is described as “a veritable tour de force in neo-burlesque hilarity” and was voted in the top 20 UK Burlesque Performers 2013 by readers of 21st Century Burlesque Magazine.

Her take on burlesque fuses comedy and glamour in what she likes to call “glomedy”.

Susie Vavoom featured this summer in San Francisco’s Hubba Hubba Revue but hails originally from Toronto in Canada.

Charlie said: “Susie is known for her musicality and playfulness and for making every dance more fun than the last.”

Fellow dancer Titsalina Bumsquash is hailed as a “curvaceous country bumpkin, flexing her comedic burlesque talents for your entertainment”, while Kiki Deville has featured at the Sydney Olympicsand on BBC’s The Voice.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8.30pm show.
