Birdwatchers - we need your help

BIRDWATCHERS are being sought to help survey one of our most popular – but declining – summer visitors.

The British Trust for Ornithology wants more people to help carry out its House Martin Count Survey.

The organisation still needs people to look for the birds in randomly selected 1km squares across the country, including our area.

Taking part will involve making up to three survey visits to walk around the square looking for House Martins and their nests, and then mapping and recording the data.
