Are you afraid of Virginia Woolf?

WHO’S Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?

That’s the question being put to audience in Barnsley next week.

Dyad Productions bring their tour of Dalloway to The Civic on April 14.

Set in 1923, following the end of World War One, the play focuses on Clarissa Dalloway as she prepares a party in Westminster and Septimus Smith, who has been diagnosed with shell-shock.

Their memories and dreams magically intertwine with those of 15 other disparate souls on one hot blue day in June.

Conjuring the hopes and regrets of middle- and upper-class London, this adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s celebrated map of hearts, minds and memories offers a compellingly feminine response to the aftermath of the First World War.

Dalloway is at The Civic on Thursday, April 14, at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £12 full price and £10 concessions.
